Here are the latest enhancements we’ve made to our Sage Accounting plans:

Quick approval for quotes and estimates 

Plan: Standard, Plus 

Quotes and estimates can now be easily approved or rejected with a single click. Users can also add a reason for any rejections, so you gain the level of detail and context you need to take action—whether that’s adjust the item or raise an invoice. 

Automated payments through GoCardless 

Plan: Standard, Plus 

Our integration with GoCardless means you can now add automated payments to your recurring invoices. In other words, customers can sync their existing GoCardless account and pay you what they owe via Direct Debit.  

You can also mandate this type of payment and even automatically reconcile them with the invoices when paid. 

This removes friction from the payment process, meaning you’ll spend less time chasing payments, experience fewer payment failures, provide customers with a cheaper way to pay, and improve their experiences. 

New budget capabilities 

Plan: Plus 

Sage Accounting Plus users now have some extra budget capabilities to keep their finances on track. These include being able to easily create, edit, and manage budgets, as well as running reports to track business performance. 

Whether building a budget from last year’s data or creating one based on your plan ahead, these new capabilities help you control costs, set goals, manage cash flow, and allocate your resources. 

Sales invoice improvements 

Plan: Start, Standard, Plus 

You can now easily view the history of all sales invoices—including details, current status, and any previous activity. This helps with deciding when and how to chase late payers.  

We’ve also added notifications that give you real-time updates on any activity related to your sales invoices. This includes if there is a delivery error, and any time a Stripe payment is made. 

Customer statement improvements 

Plan: Standard, Plus 

You can now stay informed when running customer statements by including yourself in all communications—including automated monthly statements. This means you’ll always know the current delivery status for each customer. 

Adjust stock balances with Import

Plan: Standard, Plus

Thanks to a new File Import type, you can now bulk update stock quantities and pricing.

This means you no longer have to spend hours manually making individual updates.

Mobile purchase capture

Plan: Standard, Plus

To make managing your expenses simpler, we’ve updated our mobile app so you can now capture receipts and purchase invoices while you’re on the go.

This automatically pulls out the key details and saves them in the platform, helping you keep a closer eye on cash flow and reduce mistakes.

Recurring invoicing batch management

Plan: Start, Standard, Plus

You can now manage recurring invoices more efficiently by activating, deactivating, and cancelling them in batches.

So, you no longer have to manually update each individual recurring invoice if you need to make changes.

There’s also a range of new functions to make managing recurring invoices simpler.

From filtering by status to sorting, showing and hiding columns, you can take finer control of the information you see, and adjust your workflow to suit you.

Create refunds from bank feeds

Plan: Start, Standard, Plus

A new update allows you to easily allocate the correct transaction type for refunds by customers and suppliers.

You can now also record partial refunds without having to delete and redo transactions manually.

Move and reorder lines in sales invoices

Plan: Start, Standard, Plus

You can now quickly and easily change any invoices you’ve already created.

So, if you want to add another item, reorder or copy lines, or format the document, you can jump back into the editor at any time.

Export Contact and Products in an importable format

Plan: All

When you export Contacts and Products data, it will now be in a format that can be reimported later.

This means you don’t need to manually change records, which saves a lot of time, particularly when you need to restart or move a client subscription.

Update Contact and Product records with Import

Plan: All

You no longer have to manually update Contact and Product records one by one. We’ve added a new option that allows you to make a bulk update using a file import.

During this import, you can update or skip any existing records, making it easier than ever to replace data such as stock prices and quantities, and contact settings.

Smart reporting drill from ledger account balance to nominal activity detailed

Plan: Start, Standard, Plus

To help you gather and better understand insights from your financial data, we’ve added the capability to drill down into deeper detail directly from summarised financial statements.

You can quickly get into the granular detail, identify discrepancies, backtrack numbers, and find ways to be more efficient.

Trial Balance report

Plan: Individual, Individual Free

Trial Balance reports have now been added to our Individual and Individual Free plans. This is an essential report that helps you detect errors, check the accuracy of financial records, and prepare other financial statements.

You can download your Trial Balance reports using the mobile app, and even customise them using the web app.

Bulk edit transactions

Plan: Individual, Individual Free

When checking your records for accuracy, you can now edit transactions in bulk (up to 20 at a time). You can change the dates, categories, and descriptions, as well as posting and deleting transactions.

By eliminating the need to do this one transaction at a time, this capability will speed up your annual filing processes.

Export unmatched transactions in bank feeds

Plan: Standard, Plus

When you or your accountant are working with bank feeds, you’ll sometimes be missing key context around individual transactions, such as references or unexpected amounts.

Gathering the information you need to correct this can be time consuming—especially if you have a high volume of transactions.

So, we’ve now added the ability to export a report of all unmatched transactions found in your bank feeds, meaning you can easily request the information you need, such as ledger accounts, transaction descriptions, or invoices.

Edit contact applied to payments and receipts

Plan: Start, Standard, Plus

Previously, if you accidentally applied the wrong supplier to a transaction, you’d have to unmatch, delete, recreate, and reallocate it.

This was quite time consuming, so we’ve now made it so you can easily edit any contact applied to a payment or receipt.

This will help you quickly correct any mistakes and give you more confidence in the accuracy of your bank feeds.
